Sounds to me like you need to just get some good race fuel and mix 50/50 and ditch the Avgas altogether. That will yield you more power( maybe not as much a MS109) and youll probably spend the same or less. That is if you bought a 55 drum.

Someone mentioned that used RN SJ water boxes are the new B pipe. I would agree. You can get a new A/m one for the price that some used ones are going for. This one is already at $157, let's see how high it gets...

I know someone that races and uses MS109 it in their Seapoo 2 stroke racer and the jetting had to be increased from 135 main to a 137.5. But again your comparing Avgas/pump 50/50 mixture to MS109. How about comparing with a regular race fuel @50/50 mix. Avgas is crap. :nana:

Ya, but Matt you went from Avgas 100LL mixed 50/50 with pump gas to comparing that to the MS109 right? I dont think that is a very good comparison. But obviously you could feel the difference in power. I would like to do a back to back test using MS109 vs. the Sunoco 110 or VP105 I can get...

Exactly.. if not thousands... There are tons of threads on here with people abusing their crankshafts and they still keep working. I have ran a couple SBT cranks and they lasted a long time and IMO are just as good if not better than the Hot rods cranks that are make in Taiwan. I ran one for 2...

Mine either... I have BrapJack dual 44's and they used the old skool alum pieces like you mention with 2 set screws each with the straight rubber piece in the middle. I really like the design of that one Shifty posted, looks much more bullet proof...

I like the sound of composite box's vs. a alum box. Sounds so deep and throaty, which when a little loud is way more tolerable compared to a alum box that is just as loud, but has the high pitched "pingy" sound.

I have a FPP water box. Its not loud at all. It probably doesn't make any more power/response difference over a OEM box, but it is 3-4 lbs. lighter.

I guess I'm just spoiled. I have VP105 and Sunoco 110 from the pump just a few miles away. I mix 50/50 with 91 octane. I have Avgas at the pump 2 blocks away, but its damn near the same price as the VP105, plus Avgas is crap.. Well its good for airplanes.

227, he's talking about a square nose Superjet. There is no gel coat at all on a square nose. The bottom deck is SMC with paint and the top deck is made out of Metton, which is a engineering plastic thats formed in a mold and its also painted too.
