it sounds like your bendix is at fault. if it disengages itself from the flywheel while the starter is turning it, its faulty.
the ring looks like its broken on the exhaust side. if it is, id inspected the exhaust port carefully and consider chamfering it.
as far as the removing the coupler, you can put the rear crack lobe in a vice and turn the coupler. i find that the head of a hammer fits well into the coupler and...
while riding today, i noticed that my exhaust kinda had an unburnt fuel smell about it with the iridiums. i switched back to the b8es's and the smell was gone and the ski ran like it should. :dunno:
an air leak can happen in the return line too.
the fact is, if ANYthing is leaking, your tank wont hold pressure. if everything is installed right, there shouldnt be any air leak.
does the clicking noise only happen when youre pushing the start button? is it click on - click off, or does it click continuously when your finger is on the button. sounds like it could be a faulty ground or some other connection.
