The ski had an older (but looks like brand new)pro-tec pipe on it when I got it so that base is covered.
The next thing I'll be getting is the intake grate (WORX 201 I think) and prop (now that I know what to look for). In the meanwhile I'll be looking for a stock head that I could send out to...
WOW !! That's what I was looking for.
Straight answers.
As far as the motor goes, I want to keep the one that's there right now as she is a total virgin. I want to retain the stock graphics and keep the outside looking like new. This ski looks like it was in a time capsule so I rather not...
Should I be looking for a stock Solas "I" or would a tweaked one work better ?
What pitch should I be looking at ??
Might help if I see something on ebay or classifieds.
I don't want to sound ignorant but I don't have any experience with the SJ's so knowing what works and what doesn't is a...
P.S. I need stronger springs for my handle pole.
If I buy aftermarket ones do I replace both or juts one to get the desired effect ?
What if I just stick some wedges under the bottom perch, would that do anything for me ?
I have a '90 650 SJ which except for an older pro-tec pipe is all stock.
She runs great and is giving me a real workout (I love it) but she does need some help in the hook up department.
From reading old posts on here it seams that most like the Worx intake grate (WR-201, I believe) and...
Went out riding yesterday and the bilge pump works like a charm.
No need to worry about sludge on the tray as my bilge is clean ALWAYS and I do spray down my entire engine with Boeshield T-9 after every ride.
I ran out of daylight so I just zip tied the selector to the fuel filter but I will...
My bad, sorry.:banghead:
I did a search and must of skipped over that one.
It's a shame as that thread you linked has all my questions answered and than some.
Strike this up as another stupid noob at a keyboard.
Well,
took the fuel selector off and "voila". A perfect hole for my fitting.
No drilling required.
Seriously, do you guys ever use the "on" and "off" functions on that thing ?
P.S. I found an awesome automotive style fuse holder. The type with the rubber o-rings. 6 bucks on sale at Boat US.
I would like to avoid drilling the sides if possible.
I searched some old threads and it seams that I'm not the only one who wanted to use the dash.
I know in my GPR I used to have the selector zip tied out of the way until I did a duel feed (the stock selectors on the GPR's were known for...
I'm in the process of installing a bilge pump on my square nose and was looking for places to drill holes for the through hull fitting.
I want to ride tomorrow so I need to get this done now.
The place on the dash where the fuel selector sits looks perfect for that, I was thinking of taking...
The prop is stock with major burn and chipped edges (it has to go) and the grate is some funky thing that looks like the stocker with the middle bars cut out.
The grate is basically just 2 bars running close to the sides of the intake tunnel.
It does have the letters "WF" embossed right where...
Thank you, mister.
I guess I should leave things alone than, at least until the time comes to upgrade to a 701.
Time to look for a prop and a grate and not bother with the pipe.
Just picked up a '90 square nose 650 and it has a Pro-Tec pipe on it. The pipe was installed along with some funky intake grate probably when the ski was new or close to it
I looked on Pro-Tecs site and couldn't find anything about this pipe(I guess they don't make them any more).
Can...
Hello to all.
Been lurking here for some time trying to read as much as possible to avoid "the dumb questionitis".
I just picked up a mint 90 SJ which is all stock (except for a Pro-Tec pipe and some ancient intake grate) with mega low hours.
I picked her up on Monday and have been...
