Dump a little premix fuel down the carb and see if it pops off. if you have spark it should start for a few seconds. If it does not get a prime and keep running after doing that a few times, you definitely have fuel pumping issues. But also block off that water dump valve on the cases...

No, it would still get the fuel to the top, just would have a massive air leak and would prolly run away(diesel glow plug action)

They really pick up more low end and throttle response once you get the red anodizing off and polish them up real smooooth!
