I wiped out on a couch doing 70+ with a helmet on and it did act like a parachute.
Hurt like heck for a few days.
With the standups speed isn't much of a factor, it's the ski landing on your head that will hurt you.
I tell you what,...
bring that rig down to SWFlorida and I'll bring enough people to unload it in less than one hour, and I'm not going to make a mess.
I'm sure the Lanier locals will chime in as soon as they see this.
Ivnspeed, don't sweat it.
Your first mods will be a prop and intake grate which cost the same (if you buy new) as it would for a GPR.
Than it's all down hill.
Don't forget that these guys are way above us on the skill level curve and what no longer works for then is great for us. Just...
I think it's up to you.
I was just farting around one day(second weekend on a standup) jumping the odd wake here and there.
Long story short, I split my chin open on the pole.
Nothing major but could have been much worse.
I do own a helmet now however I haven't worn it as yet.
Don't...
Welcome to the fun side Ivnspeed.:woot:
My GPR is covered with dust and junk while my square nose is always wet.
Go figure.
Grudge racing gets old but riding these stand ups is a lot like looking for the perfect wave.
I know that valve is a good thing but I'm toying with an idea of inserting it into a bigger pipe. Sort of like a pipe inside a pipe.
There would have to be a reducer with a threaded fitting inside that the valve would screw on.
I did something similar installing a pool heater once, the check...
Looks like a HOOT !!
I know that I will be doing the same thing in the not too distant future except for the one way valve.
I just don't feel too happy having a valve that can brake installed in a way that you can't replace it.
There has to be a better way.
Send them, I kind of know what it takes to put them in.
I think I have the theory down just need the practice in glassing.
I'm about to mix up my first batch of resin right now.
No back flips yet.
There hasn't been any surf to speak of since that storm went by.
Tim wasn't out last weekend, I think he's working on securing his hood. He lost it while riding and had to dive down to pull the ski out.
We got it running but since this wasn't the first time his hood flew...
Right now I'm working on a spare hood. You know, the usual hand holds and stuff.
If you get here the second week of July than don't miss the South West Florida Ski Fest at Lovers Key.
I have my room booked for the entire weekend of fun on the water.
Be there!!!
I'm way out of your area but will report any suspicious item for sale on the net.
A$$ holes like the ones who did this need to be found and shown the right path in life, via baseball bat.
