just because your limit is set to 9k, it doesnt mean your motor is actually capable of spinning 9k on a WOT run. if your pump is hooked to the water, its going to take some mad modification to hit 9k. many ltd skis dont even hit the stock rev limit unless their pumps come out of the water.

get it. itll be the $700 spent to get you off the 550 and into SJs. sounds worth it to me.

clean turfage! if you hit the inside corners with a little flat black spray paint after sanding, but before applying contact cement, youll never see white if it shrinks.

seriously? ive never done it... ive only compared with gaskets. maybe theres plenty of metal left, but where the 2 mating surfaces come together, its a thin line. is it not?

true, but it gets awfully thin between the port and water jacket on a 650 manifold matched to 701 cylinders.
