Big pin crank into small pin case is a no go, small pin crank into a big pin case will work but you could possibly have a problem with crankcase windage due to the extra space between the crankshaft and cases.Myth busted !
If its the older type of starter that is a typical starter failure for those, I would either get the 92 and up style starter or a seadoo 587-567-717 starter
I have never had two out side by side but I will tonight as I am building a big pin tonight, I will let you know for sure whats what tomorrow.....................
Ok called them up this morning and they said we don't need no stinking reservation, just show up, pick out a site and camp, pretty damn simple if you ask me and that is one of the reasons I like this particular date for the ride.
One more thing I noticed sometime when you click the whats new link you get a v-bulletin message that says no items found that mactch your search, this one happens quite often.
Yes the wire Yamaha uses is crap, you can get good ignition wire at Napa sold by the foot then make a tool and cut the remaining wire out of the coil, push the new wire into the post, dribble some epoxy past the wires and it will usually work much better.
