If the hull flexes, you will get wet foam. I don't care how the halves are put together..it'll come in around the cooling tubes, scupper, exhaust or firewall....... The hull needs to be super stiff.
Inferior product. I truly feel it is the way the glass is laid. My Trinity is Glass and is thinner than my SXR was...Bobby said he calculated that even with it weighing 90 lbs less, he calculated that it was more than TWICE as strong as a stock SXR because of the lay-up. Most builders do NOT...
Yep....or a KDX similar to a Freak, to me. (I can't comment on the strength or build quality of any of these though, just the ridability)
From what I hear, Matrix too, but havent ridden one.
Only if waves are 2' or less...and I don't jump much, just carving or cruising. I stay within 75 yds of shore....after Bruins, I'll never ride in big waves alone again. We still (and never will) know what happened out there...but it made me come up with 4 different scenarios of what could happen.
I agree, that 2nd star (farther out) is probably it. We need to locate that again and dive there...but not randomly...with the hummingbird running. It is hard to find a location out there. Zach, let us know when your going out again and we'll bring wetsuits and dive down there with ropes...
Cool lookin boat...too small for my old blood. I do like the way the Rok rides probably more than any other AM hull...but the RokR is just way to damn small. Eventually, I'll probably chop up my trinity to be a bit more shaped like a ROK.....if I can ever destroy it. It's hard to cut up a...
Zach didn't build the ski, he bought it that way. He is new to riding (and is kicking some ass) so cut him some slack about the foam. I am sure all skis will be foamed from now on. Anyways.....Zach, it is supposed to be super warm this fall (with lots of south winds) and we often get a week...
1. GET YOUR SKI BACK and take pictures of all the parts.
2. If you never sunk it, it should be covered and you are going to have to raise some hell and make some phone calls. DO NOT let the dealer do the work, unless it is covered by the waranty.
Those nets are illegal on Erie for fishing...so I doubt we could find one around here. We dragged a cable between two couches hoping it would snag, but nothing. We could have EASILY missed it though. Good idea though.
Tomorrow AM: Boat with Sonar
Tomorrow PM: Diver with cables
It wasn't removed...just never put in. There is also no firewall to the back of the ski. I guess for weight and so it won't get waterlogged....This was a Highroller ski, so maybe it was never finished? who knows...
I'll only put in styrofoam or pingpong balls if I have to ever refoam.
I am adding more floatation to my ski this winter...I think I'll fill the handlepole with pingpong balls and attach shrinkwrap tubes full of pinpong balls to the inside of my hull. Also thinking of adding a second 1100gph bilge pump. Foam is still dry, three years in! That hull is STIFF and...
When you go up, let me know. If we could get a guy on the beach with a walkie talkie talking to the choppa and giving hand signals to a swimmer, you may be able to direct them right to it and tie a rope and buoy on it.
