One of the many projects I have on the back burner is another Jet powered runabout boat, I have built one with a Seadoo 720 engine and pump, it does ok but really not enough ass to push that big ass boat. I am thinking a Yamaha 1200 NPV engine with a 155mm jet pump would push it fairly well.

Probably going bigger on the engine in mine next year, but the 650 does pretty well in that ski and you gotta start somewhere.

When they changed the exhaust in 1986 to the Jet power exhaust which was designed by Westcoast they also bumped the carb to a 44mm carb, these were faster than the previous models, but IMHO the 550 PP engine pales in comparison to the 550 reed valve engine.

I would check the blades on the prop very closely, one bent blade on the trailing egde and it will cavitate very badly , also most skis will only cavitate till they are up on plane, even skis Seadoos with all the rubber coating missing off of the wear ring.

No the threads on the pump shafts are CCW on one of them and CW on the other. I don't remember which is which right off hand.

SBT is doing relines on Jet pumps now also, but know up front that Exact tool will probably be higher in quality.

Actually other than stud length differences on the hull all of the Seadoo 140 mm jet pumps are interchangable, a lot of peeps run the Seadoo RFI pumps on the HX's, its a big hub plastic pump.

Maybe on boats, but to the best of my knowledge There was never a bulletin on the tempo lines till after the ethanol was in the fuel. I have access to a database with the Seadoo bullitens and I have never seen it in there.At any rate that is not the issue here Tempo never claimed their fuel...

Years ago we used to run these type of lines , they usually lasted about a year before they were hard and brittle, I cannot swear to it because I am not a chemist but I believe these are the same old line they have been selling for years, they look the same and they work the same. Bottom line...

Honestly I can only attest to the purple fuel lines and their use with 10% Ethanol fuels, different colored lines used with different fuels may be absolutely ok, but then the grey tempo marine fuel lines used by Seadoo from 1994-2003 are just fine also as long as they are not used with 10%...

This isn't in the neg section because thats not reason for posting it. The reason for posting this is simply so fellow members here could have the info needed to make a good decision, I realized this as being one of those bandwagon topics , I also realize many people here have this fuel line on...

Already did today ,Gates green stripe baby, I buy it by the 25ft roll for the Seadoos, never again. This thread is more for those that think they want those lines on their ski , think twice, ride longer.
