Yup, just JB weld it, or even a little epoxy if you don't have JB weld. Just make sure you don't weld up the hole in the spigot.

Ditto on the stock plate. I would mod it now and start ridding with it, rather than change it later and have to get used to a whole different feel all over again.

I think that is the same manifold I'm using on a set of 44's, but mine are not a set of dual OEM carbs, they were individual OEM's that were made into a dual setup. Manifold works great for my setup. Edit: Ooops, i just re-read the original post. In that case, I don't know since that is a 48...

Trust me, that scissor stand isn't going any where. We put another brace on the adjacent corner that is hard to see in the picture. The AC stand wouldn't pop out from the side for nothing. The rolling stand is the perfect length so that it won't twist out, and then there are braces on each side...
