I tried searching for some old threads about this the other day, I'm glad someone brought this up. I might try to resleeve a cylinder myself also.

what types of batteries are most of you running

I'm going on my 4th year on what ever battery comes stock in the SXR. I just purchased a Jetworks battery. I really like it, but don't like the way the battery cables screw in side ways. It requires a 10 mm wrench and a philips screw driver. Which sucks to have to use two tools instead of just...

Thank you for what you have done Superjett. Wish it wasn't so, but it is... With that said, what I can I do to demote Big Kahuna? J/K I loved the April Fool's avatar joke BTW

    What would you do?

Well I know i have the bolts that hold the two halves of the cases together, but not sure if I have the bolts that hold the cylinder to the cases, or if I have head bolts. Good point accbr. Thanks.

    I gotcha, thanks.

    What would you do?

Thats sound encouraging. I was thinking I would want to try to crack it open first. If I don't like what I see, I can always sell the engine in pieces, or buy a new base gasket and slap it back together real quick.

    What would you do?

    No hammers, don't worry.

    What would you do?

You think I should even open up the short block first before I sell it just to buy a crank? I have a feeling that this crank is going to be in excellent condition, but who knows.

    What would you do?

I made a typo in my original post. I have the kind that DO NOT REQUIRE you to use a hammer. Just turn in. So I'm good.

    What would you do?

If I were to purchase a full engine rebuild gasket/seal kit, anybody have a recommendation on a brand or retailer to purchase from?

    What would you do?

I have a set of extractors that do require you to hammer them into place. I'll give them a shot, but chasing the threads is a good idea also. I might even have the size tap at home already now that I think about it.

    What would you do?

Why would I port the 650 cylinder when I can just re-sleeve the 61X cylinder I have? I'm not really planning on setting the engine up with carbs and/or pipe, just want a spare sitting on the shelf, or I might sell it when I'm done building it.

    What would you do?

What would you do here? I barely used any force and this bolt broke off. I'm gonna try an extractor. I know what needs to be done, but maybe someone can share their experience with this same thing.
