    SXR Sxr 800 engine removal

hmmm...from a couple years ago, but forgot to say take off throttle and starter cable and all fuel lines...you can stick a 10mm bolt in fuel lines so they don't drip.

SXR Building the best SX-R race engine! Why not DASA?

That was my question too. Would it work in a rec ski and would the crank last 2-3 seasons?

SXR Building the best SX-R race engine! Why not DASA?

and the verdict? Do they scream like the DASA 1000 Yamis? Do you run a mag pump? Powerfactor pipe?

SXR Building the best SX-R race engine! Why not DASA?

I don't think the DASA Kawis are proven...yet. I haven't heard of a GOOD RUNNING, RELIABLE one yet, anywhere with significant gains over a stock motor. They have the Yamaha motors down, but I think the Kawi ones are still new and in testing stages. Please someone feel free to prove me...

SXR Carb adjustment - SXR only with dry pipe

You will need new jets FOR SURE. Check www.factorypipe.com, to find out which ones and for install instructions. Expect to lose a little low end and gain a lot of top end. ....with no other mods.

SXR sxr factory dry pipe oilleaking from coupler

Those dry pipes suck. Tighten down your coupler with a ratchet not a screwdriver.

SXR SXR taking on a lot of water

Trinity hood makes a HUGE difference. Your ski will be faster, lighter and it will get WAY LESS water in. I have the $500 glass version and it is an awesome hood. At least block off the front holes on your stock hood with anything (*duct tape, even) and create a 2nd hole in the back. Makes...

SXR SXR taking on a lot of water

Yep, but make sure it's a float switch, not a timed pump. Rulemates are bulletproof and only turn on when water is present.

SXR SXR taking on a lot of water

First step: Install one of these and never worry again about your ski sinking while sitting. http://vimeo.com/46853698 Next: put in Drain plug and fill up ski...look for leaks. Then: Block off front hole on hood. Open a 2nd one in the back, this will help stop water getting in Finally...

    SXR Take-off help request

With experience, you will stand at an almost idle....especially on a stable SXR. I go through all no wake zones standing. I used to be able to stand on mine without it running. (Only weighed about 160 back then)

    SXR Take-off help request

Take off all the pads, glass over the holes and get some hydroturf and underpadding. There are threads on how to turf an SXR.

SXR Kawasaki 849 big bore kit by Group k

So everyone seems to say...compression/porting first. When I rebuild this winter that will be the plan.

Just click on this one's picture of me with the camera. I have more on youtube, but they took the music off of them, so now they suck.

SXR Rattling sound coming from pump area.

Yep, I put an oring on the end of my driveshaft and that helped. Grease it up too.

Thanks! Go with the hull, but I'd go -4 for sure if I had it to do again. The power increase from the loss of weight is unreal. It is more of a power increase than the pipe. If you were me, what would you go with next? Carbs? Porting? Compression? (I'm only at 155). Can I throw some Mikuni...

    Custom/Hybrid HydroTurf colors fade much?

Red=Pink in a month Green=Mint in a month Orange and Blue seem to hold up, but I'd stick with Black/White/Grey. I think a UV inhibitor would take away Hydroturf's main purpose, which is to Provide Traction, by putting a glossy coat on it. I wouldn't mess with it, it is pretty much perfect the...

Nope. All my power comes from lighter hull, not engine mods. I have a wetpipe/flywheel. Everything else is stock motorwise.
