im not a glass expert, but id say its because epoxy doesnt adhere to gelcoat like polyester and vinyl ester does. also, im pretty sure that vinyl ester is lighter than polyester and epoxy. its also stonger than polyester.

the only problem that i see with feeding the headpipe from the top, instead of the bottom, is the possibility for an air pocket at the upper part of the head pipe. if you feed it from the top fitting, air isnt going to escape from the bottom fitting. if you feed it from the bottom fitting, air...

sometimes the start/stop switch will case intermittent stopping, whether its a faulty switch or bad connection. does it only do it at high RPMs? if so, it could be a clogged fuel filter (internal or external). the internal ones are usually the ones that clog first.

since the exhaust ports and cooling passages are not symmetrical, from top to bottom, youll very likely have the problem of exhaust and/or cooling leaks.

if you already ordered a new hood, you should try to get your $ back. why try to fix it? unless you have another RN to put it on...
