I see a nasty staph infection in your future.
You'll never keep it clean OR dry. it will be breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria and mold. and the damp smell will be everywhere.
I layed the first coat of paint.
I really didnt wannt returf it till I painted it.
tommorrow I smooth out the hood and paint it. and wet sand the hull and lay the second coat.
It isnt gonna be fancy. The G/F says it looks like a School bus now.

I'm on it with a vengence.
The nose is repaired.
I used SS rivets to pull the sections together then epoxied the seam. then I aplied several layers of 5oz woven cloth to the seam and surrounding areas. I also ripped out my old Jet trim mat while waiting on cureing. the new turf and pad is...
I have wasted no time.
I have the nose repaired and have new turf cut and ready to install. I also fixed a crack in my hood.
I forsee my JS550 back in the water by next weekend.
all I'm lacking is a hood seal at this point.
alright... I got the seal off and gave it a look see. I think I can fix it quick fast and in a hurry. My suspicions er correct. they used, something, to bond it. it's not even glassed. The gap is natural. the 2 peices dont fit together tight so what ever the bonding agent was...it failed.

My liner is pretty good. I'm just trying to negate the flex in this big flat hood. No major work and I'm not dumping tons of cash into this pile either. I have nothing in it. I'm gonna keep it that way.
My thought was the strut would make it...
the side of the hood on my JS550 flexes and gets pushed in off the seal when I land on my side ( i know...dont land on my side, right).
I'm thinking of glassing in an aluminum strut to stiffen the sides. any reason NOT to do this?
I almost sank my ski twice last weekend cuz of this. I need...
