I don't know how I'm sinking my ski any different, but I guarantee there was water in the OEM style fuel filter, and when I pulled the carbs apart I poured the left over liquid into a clear container... There was defiantly water in there also.
I am using the OEM air/water separator on the ski...
Every time water gets in em, which last year happened twice. Surf riding takes it toll. You loose your ski in a 8 ft swell, and you can pretty much almost guarantee water in your gas tank, which then might end up in the carb.
Plus every time I rebuild, it cost half as much. Carb rebuild kits aren't cheap. $35-$50 depending on where you purchase them. I am also no pro, so I have my watercraft tech rebuild my crabs for me, he charges $20 a carb.
with more water going into the engine... It makes sense.... If the ski is lying on its side in the water, and there is water in the engine compartment... water has a further distance to travel to make it inside of the carb with the OEM compared to a 360 degree open element filter.

Just wanted to update this thread a month down the line. I love my new carb setup. Tuned it a little bit more since I originally installed it, and I am having way less issues with it loading it up. It only loads up after a really long harbor wake zone. Over all, I'm impressed.
Use a bigger wrench. Are you trying to remove a Solas Prop?
If it is a Solas, I have found that if you use a bulkier solas prop tool, that it will produce better results. There are the tools that come free with the prop when you buy it brand new... those are garbage... I had to use one ordered...
pics please... when you submit a post... press the advanced button on the bottom... on the new page scroll down to the manage attachments button, then add your pic.
thats what I'm talking about. You can remove an engine in like 25 minutes... putting it back in is another story... but all in all it will probably be the best route to take.
John hooked me up and feed me full of some knowledge when I called him to place an order. He was a really cool guy on the phone. Should be receiving my package today. Thanks John.
I ordered two stainless ratchet straps. I received them so quick, and their prices seem very fair for the rest of their products. Here is the link to the ratchets I bought.

The thread doesn't seem to be bashing in my opinion... I see alot of facts. If this thread wasn't in the "Negative feedback" section, would it still be bashing?
Even taking into consideration the charges for customs and the true price to ship it, I would hope that it costs less than $75, and in any case, I thought the recipient of the package pays for custom's charges upon receipt? Correct me if i am wrong.
