They're 44's as far as I can tell. I don't know if the I-body part is a performance benefit, I'd guess not (considering nobody uses them in the aftermarket). I'd guess they're better for emissions.
It's not too hard to get 120hp out of a 62T engine (especially with race gas and a dry pipe), but it's still like apples and oranges. Check out GP800 reeds compared to 62T reeds. The same  factor pretty much applies to every aspect of the 800 engine. The 800 is a 10mm stroker, has...
I don't see why flat tops would affect the basic function of the water screws. But every setup is different; too many variables to copy someone else's jetting.
Where do you have the waterscrews on your pipe set at? I'd only open the top one, try 0.5 turns out to start with.
Were you trying a stock 44mm carb? What jetting? You'd be a lot better off with duals, but it should run well with a single.
I don't know all the 951 engine specs, but you can't run as much timing advance or compression on a big bore. Say on a 701 the safe limit is a 2 degree advance and 185psi... that wouldn't be safe on a 91mm bore.
There is no difference in performance. I used a remote last year, because it allows more clearance between the carbs and the exhaust tube, when you run the fuel pump side of the carb(s) out.
My personal opinion is that the FX-1 is more fun to ride, but in rough water they're a PITA. Maybe a bigger pump would help, I don't know, part of it is due to the smaller hull. Complete, they're like 25 pounds lighter than a Superjet.
