How esential is it to weld the crank?

The one's I've seen welded looked like more than a little spot. It looked like they'd be a PITA to get apart IMO.

How esential is it to weld the crank?

I figure if it's not necessary, why do it? it's going to make it a lot harder to rebuild.

How esential is it to weld the crank?

I've never seen a welded stroker crank, and they are primarily (or were primarily) for racing.

How about expensing a new X-2 hull?

Case damage....Is it okay to weld?

Why would you think it broke in shipment? It looks like ass.

    stroker crank anyone

Dude, he's got nothing to worry about. There's no laws protecting a crankshaft, even if he makes a dead nuts RAD copy.

    where is this sport going?

Last year I'd guess about 300, lol. Think about it, if Yamaha/Kawasaki stop selling skis, there will be no new skis on the market, except for a handful of custom hulls (which probably won't even replace the number of Superjet hulls that get trashed every year). Nobody's saying the...

    where is this sport going?

I think freeride/freestyle will always be a niche sport. There's virtually no OEM support, and for potential new riders... if they're not living on water, it's a ton easier to get into other sports like motocross before they even try a jetski. Look at some of the factors... dirtbiking is...

    Weight of FX-1 Hull

That's what we really want to know  I don't think the Queenford FX-1 had anything done to the bracket area other than reinforcing it from the inside (and filling in the sides where the purple plastic piece was). They used a really sweet lowered bracket and handpole though.

    Weight of FX-1 Hull

If you just bought an FX-1, you'll want to reinforce under the handpole area. They're notoriously weak around there.

    Weight of FX-1 Hull

Can you find a scale somewhere? That would be great info to know. I posted this question on pwctoday.com and never really got an answer. I figure the complete stock FX-1 is 25 pounds lighter than the Superjet... the FX-1 hood is about 7 pounds lighter, the pump is probably 2 pounds lighter...

wiesco vs. pro-x vs. WSM vs. OEM

I've heard of people making holes in piston skirts to feed boost ports. Or something like that. But just because that's how the ports were setup to run. IMO it's definitely not with the breakage risk to try to lighten them, it's not like Weisco or Pro-X said "hey, let's add a bunch of extra...

    stroker crank anyone

In one of the case "finger filling" threads, Jr.magoo said that more case volume is better for low RPM power. I don't know either way, but Rad cranks seem to work really well IME.

Gotcha. I've heard of that, but never called that.

    ? for x-jetters

Use the GP800 couplers (they are 5 lug) and use the stock blaster shafts/pump/etc. It's pretty simple after you figure out the exhaust.

    stroker crank anyone

They are just selling leftovers (last I heard). All they have left are the 6's.

    stroker crank anyone

Last I heard all RAD was selling was leftover 6mm units, for around $1,200 each.

    Sj spark plugs

The P means the center section is longer (the electrode/ceramic piece, not the threaded portion). You can tell this from the chart that SJ-113 posted. Anyway, those plugs can mess up your engine if it's not tuned for them. My friend runs those too, he swears they make more power... I'm...
