When I first seen them on XFT-Lou’s ski I thought the same thing but after riding with then you are not stuck in them at all and they feel so nice on your feet. They do take up a lot of tray but I ride with my feet in the holds 98% of the time so that will not be a problem. I will take some pics...

Your foot is probably bruised and needs time to heal. Padding on top will keep the hurt away. What kind of holds water dog? They kill my foot even with padding. Mark44

XFT holds

Mine is under the hood and so fare has lasted 3 years. I think the sun UV rays eats up the bulb and I have searched the net for a replacement but have turned up nothing to replace this type. Mark44
