yes it is decent, but without the proper head to mount the pipe to, your gonna have problems down the road. Things might crack, putting a lot pressure on the cylinder.
3-4 days, and thats taking your time. The REV holds were a little tricker, so Geoff and I took our time, 1 week total, but the Rickters went in quickly.
I have a RIVA head. It came with the engine I purchased. Some say they don't like the RIVA style studs, while others do. The RIVA head weighs more, but it works, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.... right?
how late of a model? I was wondering this myself, b/c one person told me "all yamaha twin reeds are metal", but I had thought I have seen a set of glass reeds come out of an engine that had never been dismantled.
When I talked to Protec they told me when the dial is turned to about 3:30, that is just about 9,000 RPM give or take. So with the dial all the way over clockwise, that might be 10,000 RPM.
