That's what I would pay for.
Make it adjustable a by a few inches and you'd have a winer.
People are scared of scuppers but I think it's the heavy poles that prevent the ski from righting it self that are the bigger problem.
I think a total redesign would be a better solution.
Not :-):-):-):-)ting on your efforts it's just that I have something totally different in mind.
A single tube wrapped by styrofoam and a composite shell sort of like the OEM pole but with a stiffener between the top and bottom cast pieces...
Think of what happens to a ski that is upside down in the surf with a 3" extended keel.
The OEM RN pole has it's weaknesses but the fact that it helps right a ski is a big reason why I run one. Since this project has the potential to give us a whole new pole and not just another RRP remake, I...
Guess this would be another "looks over function" mod than.
Oh well, I was hoping for a truly innovative pole design that not only improved looks but also functionality.
Don't quite understand the bit about the breather tubes and cables.
Also, how about adding some buoyancy to the thing. That is the one thing lacking from all the AM poles.
Also, the RN pole floats which to me is very important.
Not as much for flotation but more for the fact that it will help right your ski if you ever lose it in the surf instead of acting like a heavy keel.
Another update.
A stock RN pole cut down 4" but not yet reinforced 3.2kg or 7.5LB
A bare RRP (the cast version) 5.4kg or 11.5LB
Anyone have the info on x-metals poles, both adjustable and non adjustable ??
Would be nice to have a full list.
The square pole is weak and a pain to shorten.
RN pole is much stronger, easy to shorten and much cheaper than an aftermarket pole. On top of that they look a ton better.
