WOAH! i didnt have to grind that much of the pole. the bottom of my pole was still solid. 97% of my grinding was to the bracket.

you shouldnt have to raise the bracket much to compensate for not having to grind since (im assuming) the piece youre making will have a thinner base than the cast oem bracket. id think that if you had the pivot holes up the same distance from the mounting surface of the stocker, it may fit...

as i recall, when i put the 2 manifolds back to back, the riva manifold has wider openings, than the kawi manifold, where it meets the adaptor plate. if you were to try to widen the kawi manifold to the width of the riva, you would grind right through it. the bolt patterns are the same, but...
