The four bolts are the 40mm and up Miks. You are running the stock 38s. I would break them down and find out your jetting. Perhaps the previous owner took off his head and pipe when he sold the ski, replaced them with stockers, but left the carbs jetted for the mods.
My two cents.
The SX-R is the most fun ski out of the box. Lots of carving, lots of speed. The superjets are very light, loads of fun, and tragically underpowered - but once you dump in another three grand or so, it will be an enjoyable ride.
You're good either way.
Not running is not running.
Battery, starter, crank bearings, zero compression, seized, electrical box, etc. Dead is dead and only worth dead.
Every fool with a non-running ski says, "all it needs is a battery."
