Cut the liner out all together or just where the handholds will be.
Build buckets and either make a new liner or repair the original one.
I saved a lot of weight on my SN hood making my own liner.
While peak numbers might look good on paper there is something that the dyno won't show and that is longevity.
Making a motor perform and last is key IMHO.

That being said, why get so hung up on the RN ? Get a SN and ride the snot out of it. Either than the aesthetics they all the same.
Appliance Epoxy in a rattle can would actually be a good temporary fix for that hull. That's some strong a$$ paint for a spray bomb and the black would be a close match.
