thats an interesting concept of doing it so that it accessible outside the engine compartment. but as you said I'd have to do double everything, which would require more dash space. I like though.
I was thinking about installing some sort of on/off valve on both my cooling lines coming from the pump... that way if I have the opportunity to go into shore before starting my tow home, I can shut them off so the engine doesn't get swamped from towing over 5-7mph... what do you all think? and...
Wydopen... you need to add a tow loop on the front. gotta get ready for when it starts to get big. can't messing around, trying to get a rope through the front hole and tying a knot. but don't bother with a back one, you'll never be towing anyone... hehe
I have a ratcheting hood latch/strap system with one strap going down the middle of my hood. On that strap I have a sunglasses draw string bag with my tow rope in it. Easily accessible. You can kinda see the bag in this picture.
I have a tow loop in front and a rope tied through the bow eye...
in the pictures on the first page of the thread you can see the stock pole sits up pretty high off the hood... but its b/c I have about a 4.5" pad on the pole so it would sit a little higher. The stock pole doesn't look too bad... but an aftermarket one sure does look better.
Even if your gonna drain the tank, you should put sta-bilz into the gas, and run it through the carbs so that that the fuel in the lines and carbs doesn't congeal.
check out my post in my build thread... shows a pic of the steering pivot and a not so good picture of the nozzle ground down
