i always put the washer on the piston pin, between the cylindrical bearing and the inside of the piston - one on each side of the bearing.

the water in the niagara gorge is like 70' deep... it's that there is so much volume of water rushing so fast over the deep rocks that the waves are so big and stationary.
i have a tendency to go into the water inverted on my stabs more often than not... that's prbly why in that pic i appear to be more upside down. Just a habbit of mine i guess... I think the old adage... Lead with your head and your azz will follow works...

as for nose stabbing on flat water... here is one of mine... nothing special, but you can see my body position is more towards the bars than the rear of the ski... not really sure of a good way to explain what i do... i just do it that way and it works for me.
