Actually it did happen, for at least one year, I figured they still did it. The stock intake grate is acceptable IMO if you use it with a stainless impeller, not that POS hunk of aluminum.

Do all the Mikuni carb seats (1.5, 2.0, 2.3, etc.) use the same needle?

They made at least 1 set in carbon fiber... probably saves a little weight.
