is the return line REALLY necessary?

what is the return line actually for? im guessing that it bleeds the air out of the carb(s). but, other than that, cant it be capped off? i can swear ive heard of this being done before. anyone know for sure?

    I got it turfed! finally . .

i have to agree... somewhat..... by tensioning the rope, its actually making the hook hold on "harder". but its also putting unnecessary stress on the whole latching assembly so all it takes is a "hard limit" to break the assembly, hood, or dash area and lose the hood thus sinking the ski...

sfl's new (to me) yamaha-based toy...

i DID fabricate something in my very own little shop of horrors , RICK. :wavey: the problem is that boats use throttle cables that are like our steering cables.... not to mention that theyre expensive and to put $250 into a throttle that ill have to modify and not even know if i could get it to...

sfl's new (to me) yamaha-based toy...

ryck, im not sure if a 'proper' boat throttle uses the same cable threads/ends as the ones of pwcs or if it has the right throw. that would be ideal though. this 'kinda' looks like a real throttle from about 25' away.

sfl's new (to me) yamaha-based toy...

i can if i put the lever against the bracket. remember, a cable has to come out of the flat end. otherwise, a velcro strap. this is just one of a few configurations that ive come up with using the same pieces. i have to actually sit on the boat and see which config feels best, takes up the...

sfl's new (to me) yamaha-based toy...

i got rid of the gay wr3 handlebars and got a regular round marine steering wheel. but then, where do i put the throttle? i think the throttle on the bars is kinda 'eh'. i might get a regular sidemount throttle to go onto the side of the console. in the meantime, i threw some loose parts...

    300/440/550 WTF is this?!?

gotcha. i didnt realize that fuel still returned to the tank, through the internal restrictor, when power is applied to the valve. ya, a bb would work in that case.
