    a STOCK 701 is very comparable to a VERY modded 650. too bad youre not closer. i have 2 complete 650 engines that id let go for dirt cheap.

    jett, refoaming is out of the question. rick, propping up will make the problem worse. pete, both tanks were drained and filled with 93 octane gas mixed w/ yamalube @ 50:1 kennay, richening the hi adjustor only makes the rpms fall off at lower points in the throttle range, but it doesnt help...

    Pump Seal Observation = loose.

    when installing the pump, i like to just hand-tighten the front two bolts, then take a 2' 2"x4" and 'hook' it under the rear lip of the ski and in back of the steering nozzle. then i push forward on the bottom of the 2"x4" with my left hand (this forces the pump to 'squish' the seal). i tighten...

    gotta love the hooker. that prop gave me a new appreciation for my ski and its power. it defintely finds weak spots in your driveline though. now its aluminum pump shoes for me.

    Lock on grips, ergonomic.

    stainless? the odi's have aluminum lock rings and i wouldnt consider them to be junk. i prefer the rogues over the ruffians. the ruffians are too small. the rogues are thick and squishy. i think im liking the ergo grips tho... gotta try a set.

    thats a stock bracket. it mounts to the cylinders and head. since the head bolts onto the cylinders only, that setup takes no stress off the cylinder base whatsoever. id girdle it.
