Look for a broken reed or a reed that does not sit flat against the cage, if it has stainless steel reeds in it ditch them regardless of what they look like and buy a good set of aftermarket reeds.

They do 52 stock in a Laserjet hull, in a 550 hull maybe 45 ish , quite a bit of weight difference there, also the engine is all top end, no bottom end grunt whatsoever, not what you want for running around and doing tricks, I know I own one, I pulled the engine and pump and sold them, grafted...

It all goes back to how these hulls are made, its a flat sheet that is heated and a steel form pushed through it to make the shape of the ski, this process causes stresses in the material, no way to avoid it really.

If I do this it will cost you at a later date lol. Ok the only wires you need are of course the stator wires , and the stop start switch wires, stator wires are a no brainer. The stop start switch wires hook up color to color with the exception of the red-white coming from the start switch...

I second these remarks, I always let pretty much whoever wants to ride my ski, they always end up in the water very soon, some can reboard it some can't, its always fun to watch though !

The sleeves do not always warp, actually they seldom warp, they may need to be honed to straighten them out , also be very careful when doing this that the sleeve is seated all the way into the cylinder block, if it isn't it will drop later and create big problems down the road, you don't always...
