Update to my experience. I began thinking I would cut away the green epoxy with a utility knife and a scrapper. Do not bother, it will take too long. Also, there are voids in the plastic shoe that fill with epoxy. I used a hack saw and cut away the large pieces of the plastic pump shoe. I DID...
