i cut my AC aluminum std length pole down 2 inches, and have been using a std UMI turn plate and 0 degree bars. I just installed a shortened XMW plate with straight bars... that feels much better - and I'm 6 foot tall. my winter RN project - i cut a std length AC pole 5.5 inches.

what i did what use the Jet Pilot boots i wear as a guide to see how the fit would be. this way your padding/turf is built to your foot. and definitely take your time.
