I check my duck bill regularly for rocks, pebbles, bits of zip tie, so I'm not worried about that. I have one electric bilge in front of the engine, one electric bilge in under the coupler, stock bilge/siphon, and one inch dump tube... my boat stays dry.

I'm guessing it lets the engine get a little warmer than stock.

I've never really worried about loosing my duckbill, but have worried about it ripping. I've also used at minimum 2 zip ties cris-crossed and that sucker isn't going anywhere. But the flange that 'Crockett put on the ski has a nice lip and contributes to keeping it on there.

I can't imagine doing it in 20 degree weather... I did in 50 degree a couple weeks ago, and that even sucked.

there are lot of places down here that do it. You can have it sent to me, and I'll take it somewhere... but you'd be surprised of how many places do that kinda of stuff, or atleast know somewhere to send it out to. Just look up "coatings" in the yellow pages and call all the places and ask them...

i've also seen people get the numbers stamped into a piece of stainless similar shape the stock HIN tags, and just rivet it in like the stock tags. From my research, that is what you would have to do anyways if you registered a custom made boat in California.

My ski I purchased already had a duckbill system. It works great. I do ride the surf and it is always in the back of my mind that I might break it off, or rip it, but so far so good. If I could I would install the versi plug, from the pwcdoctor, but my mount system won't allow it without...
