300/440/550 WSM Pistons kit, Are they reliable?

I use the platinum pistons, I had one Seadoo 800 that I rebuilt, that the customer ran out of oil, the Platinum piston that was in it just had the coating worn off, the cylinder was screwed but the piston came out unscathed, that one made a believer out of me on Platinum pistons.i

300/440/550 WSM Pistons kit, Are they reliable?

Like I said hundreds of these in operation in engines in the field, zero piston related comebacks, this has been going on for 12 years now, think what you want and buy what you want, I have my proof already.

300/440/550 WSM Pistons kit, Are they reliable?

The WSM Platinum pistons use OEM style clips, I have hundreds of these in engines without one single piston related failure, not sure how many engines the guys responding to this thread build a year but I average two top end rebuilds a week here.

More than likely the inner crank seals are bad letting oil seep into the bottom end , after all they are 1994 model oil seals.

Remove the two 5mm allen plugs on each side of the lower oil hose , that will drain all the crap out of the engine, most engines don't run well when flooded or full of water. If you look closely there should be a line scribed into tghe rotary valve face on the engine, you put the front cylinder...

One more thing sometime when you pull the rotary valve cover the rotary valve sticks to it, make sure that does not happen or you will have to retime the rotary valve, of course if the brass gear is toast none of this will really matter

Yep pull the rotary valve cover and make sure the brass gear on the rotary valve shaft hasn't sheared, when you get the rotarty valve cover off put a zip tie around the gear part sticking out so the rotary valve stays on the shaft, hit the start button, does the rotary valve move when you do...

Go back to square one and figure out what you don't have , spark, compression or fuel, make sure the rotary valve is rotating also, one more thing these chokes are not like Yamaha chokes, they actually work, make sure you didn't flood it out trying to start it.

They are adjustment screws, if the carbs did not need adjustment they wouldn't have adjustment screws, I reckon.

Laggy usually means its too lean, come out on the low speed screws till the lag-bog goes away, if adjusted correctly you should have to idle it back up with the idle screw to get it to idle, if you adjust it for best idle quality it will be way too lean and will not pull off the bottom
