The molds I used belong to Goose.. He's a good friend, and we had some brew one night and decided I needed a SJ.

Resin and fiberglass and brushes and rollers.. Not sure what techincal name is.. Didn't use any vac process though.. As the boat sits right now, it weighs 80 lbs.. The hood weighs apx 4.5. It's friggin light.. I flipped it over tonight to prime the bottom and chuckled at how light it is.. Wait...

Yea, I have seen hoods and minor parts made, but this is my first boat.. I'm pretty excited about it!!

I chopped 2" off the back and installed a finger trim setup. This lets the nozzle have more clearance and gets the nose out of the water. The more powa behind it, the further you come out of the water!

Ha ha. My favorite is the acetone/resin mix. :439: I have def lost my voice a little from the sanding. I have gone through a couple masks but it still finds away in. Thanks shawn.

Moving along Last night I secured the footholds and side walls where I added foam. Then I laid the black twill carbon in the engine bay. I took the pics when the carbon was still tacky, so it looks wet, but man is it sharp. I am very happy with the way it turned out. The last pic was a case...

Reinforce time Sunday was pretty productive. I managed to cutout the foothold and some access panels so that we could reinforce the hull. I also laid up the footholds. Tonight I will fill the rear of the boat with foam, attach the footholds and close up the access panels. I'll have more...

Plumbing Last night I mounted the last of the anchors and ran the plumbing for the scupper and the water lines. I also mounted the plates for the motor mounts. The top deck will go on tonight and be bonded. I should be ready for primer by monday and the motor will be here next week.

I have only done one mold so far of a x2 hood trim piece, however, its not that time consuming and not real expensive. I think I had $50 in it all said and done, plus extra material. As far as actually building the parts, you just have to take your time. If you try to rush it, you can screw...
