it does that always on one spot, i think near the bottom... must have been that it was removed at one time, and not re installed in the same position, thus making two separate flat spots. Weather or not it will affect performance, I can't say.

leave "expansion holes" behind the foot holds. install the holds, then fill with foam.

what ski is that? What type of hood latch is that? What is that purple thing? What start/stop switch is that also? I like the turf going onto the hood.

you might have trouble getting the pivot shaft to stay tight since there are no threads for the pivot shaft to screw into... you might have to use a double nut system at the end of the pivots shaft, kinda like on a stock square.

is this on a square or round? I had a stiff setup with a backing plate and I didn't have any problems. but I just went back to sloppy this last weekend.

This is true, atleast of the three different brands of gel coat that I read the back of the can of when I was researching this process also.
