:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: That's the last time I ever listen to my wife again. If it wasn't for her, I would have competed Sunday and at least hucked a couple BR's:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
The surf forecast is confusing. Looking at wavewatch for the florida gulf coast, it looks freaking huge and says it'll be clean near shore, but it doesn't say specifically which part of the coast. Probably not the part we'll be at. So long as there is at least a little to play in we'll have fun.
Crap, it took me more than two hours just to get the flywheel off the first time I tried. I'd say that with any reputable engine builder you get what you pay for. A shop doesn't get a good reputation by putting out 30 minute overhauls.
There is some good reading on that website. I'm doing a little experimenting myself and I will not be using gelcoat like I should, but this is a one time deal for me so it only has to halfway work. I'm going to get the plug how I want it and then wax the crap out of it and lay some mat on top...
It beats the hell out of having to watch the horrible shows that my wife likes to watch. I've got from now until May to finish it and it has no affect on my running skis or my riding time. If anything, it's worth it to not have to sit through the dancing with stars show and all of those...
Nope, mine is going to be more hydrodynamically smooth to do better subs. :Banane01: Actually it is just for looks. I guess the closest thing to relate it to would be building a hotrod or custom bike or something.
I'm doing mine for several reasons:
1. The hull was free
2. I'd rather work in the garage than watch TV
3. It's only costing me time and fiberglass cloth
4. I can't afford a lightweight hull or anything that would be competitive in the buildoff
5. I've had some ideas for new stuff that...
He's going to practice because he got called out on Sunday. I tried one that got somewhere between 3/4 and all the way around and he has yet to try anything. :cheer:
fyi:
rules:
1. no more than one flip completed in the surf or off wake in your lifetime.
2. 6 riders, 10 min. session
3. you must at the least nose it in and remain on the ski no inverted sub landing will count
4. over-rotated landings will count as completed flips. no let...
Looks like I'll be at the PC race but you might want to watch the marine forecast. Looks like 15-20 knots and 7-10ft seas which will surely mean a small craft advisory and no open pwc zones. I bet Ponce will be kicking.
