Alternative to mounting bilge pump to hull?

How are you breaking them? I've been using the same two for 2.5 years now. Is something hitting the bases or the pumps?

Nothing is hitting them, there is plenty of clearance. The stupid tabs just shear off. More than likely from all my pancakes.

I got plenty of those, too. Still holding up fine. The hull, motor mounts, mid shaft - not so much.

You are not alone, I went thru 4 of those baskets last year alone. I had a slow fuel leak that would push fuel out of my tank when the ski sat for extended periods of time and the fuel in my hull softened up the plastic basket and the 5200 holding them to my hull and contorted them beyond use. The other 2 broke cause my pop rivets were too close to the edges and cracked the base when i installed them to the new Blowsion bracket.

I emailed Attwood and they shipped me 5 brand new baskets, free of charge. I'll PM you the guys name and email if you'd like.

That would be awesome. Thank you

Make yourself a plate from some scratch aluminum bend it and cut out the driveshaft part so that you can attach it to 2 of the screws holding driveshaft, then rivet the blue baskets down on horizontal part of plate and put a tiny drop of 5200 on the plastic latches.......it will hold for eva..

I'd be lost without the x
Side note, if u have the stock bilge still installed and a 500 gph bilge installed under the opposite side of the drive shaft, where should I put the other bilge? Does it fit in front of the stock bilge? Sorry for the thread jack!

I have attached my rule 360's to a stainless plate. I drilled and tapped them for machine screws, the screws hold the bases down. I had to touch them with the angle grider to make the screw flush with the bottom of the plate. This was then epoxied (cabosil) under the Midshaft bearing. I have yet to break a basket, but if I do all I will need is a few minutes and a philips.

Also put a thin layer of rtv all the way around the pump where it meets the basket. That will keep it from bouncing around, even if it is just a tiny amount. They have a little play in them without it.

I had mine mounted under the exhaust pipe, screwed into a 1/2 inch of wood that I fiberglassed down.

I moved it under the driveshaft with some 5200 so it will get more water out. I did it yesterday so it is still drying.
