2008 sj ... Shorten pole & carbon reinforce.

2008 SJ ... even though the stock pole was already -2 it was still far too long. This project seemed like a headache before I started but actually turned out to be sssssuper eazy ! Chopped the pole down another 4 inches and reinforced with sum sweet carbon. A nice set of PHAT riser bars gave it a nice finishing touch. Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks. and yeah, it was very easy to leave the bottom mount bolted in cuz its like a mobile vise! Flip the pole lock up and chip away the old glass stuck to the inside of the mount, jb weld the rest of the pole back into the clean mount and its ready for the rest.

You did it without removing the pole?
It came out very nice.

Do the carbon layers "meet" or overlap each other in the back? Can you post a pic?
I am going to do the same reinforcement to the RN pole I am currently running on my SN.

Your ski is coming along real nicely bro! You should bring that monster to one of our races some time... (just ditch the d-cut, or borrow my stocker). Im doing girdle head, dual cooling, and ADA couplers this week... drill.. tap.. drill.. tap... Zzz. lol

I would love to.... I just drilled my pump for dual cooling when I put my trim on this weekend. But have not got around to pulling off the manifold because I really dont wanna scrape the gasket, i know it sounds trivial but I just hate doong that $hit.....

ok gotcha, its really doesnt cost as much as i thought for the carbon fiber sheets. i think i can do it for just around $100. so you took 6 inch off, how do you like that the pole doesnt sit all the way down on the hood?

You could do it for pretty cheap but when I ordered from US composites I ordered 5 yards @ $50 a yard sooo..... not so cheap! I still have to lay sum up on the inside to reinforce. And I have a blowsion spring so it does not sit on the hood, not even close! But it makes the pole weightless when you ride, it just floats there and is sooooo nice on the arms! And the total chop came out to be -4.5 out of the pole. stock already -2, -4.5 chop and -2 turn plate. total setup = -8.5 but with the phat riser bars I have + or - 2 adjustment to play with.
