Intake grate wear and tear

I pulled off my intake grate today for inspection.
I have had this grate on there since 2005. It's starting to look a bit rough.
I also have a piece of pump shoe missing, not sure if that's an issue.
Opinions?

I would consider that "like new". nothing is split in half or completely missing. Continue with your deconstruction.

I'm concerned with flow over the bent scoop edges.
Guess I'll hammer/grind it out.

good plan, I'd go with grinding though. if you hammer it you'll still have paper thin edges that will just curl again.

I have had intake grates that are half disintigrated, then changed them out with an identical intact grate and couldnt tell the difference

use a file. There was a time when people didn't have power tools. :spank:

I will. I had to use a hacksaw and a file to cut replacement wheel plates for my Roll-Ez cart.
What a pain in the ass.

Mighty fine. Brand-new Skat Mag impeller (along with pump), just installed last weekend.
