DJ-Thanks man... I was going pretty crazy here on the rig w/o any fresh video. I had the DT's pretty bad and was having trouble typing anything for the forum... Addiction fed and I'm Fixed for now thanks to kidkornfilms. 2 days left till I leave my ski-less punishment... headed for home. Again I submit my offer to buy the first round come Thursday boobie waves or not!

Not 100% sure on the starter. It was just old an worn out I suppose. I noticed it was started to spin over weird, fast then slow then fast then slow.. I should have headed for the ramp when I had the chance!! It just got to the point it wouldn't spin over any more. We beach carted it over to that pavilion/building at the edge of the beach and loaded it there.
I thought maybe the battery just went dead, but it's a brand damn new battery. I checked the voltage and it was around 12.6, plenty. Then I shorted the solenoid, nothing. It's a brand new battery, and new solenoid so it's should be fine.
I assume the started just gave out on me. With any luck maybe I'll have another one soon. DJ seemed to think he might have a good spare one he was going to try and test out for me this morning.
I'll try and make my way back up here if at all possible. Maybe I can get some more work here stirred up soon. Your more than welcome to take a spin on the X2 anytime! Not the prettiest, but it runs great!

The starter probably has water in it from sinking. Take it apart and clean it up with some carb cleaner and wd. The one I have is no good. TUESDAY is lookin like good waves!!!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to pull it apart.. That starter came off my old 750 and it had seen some bad days. Last time I had the engine out I couldn't even get the starter out of the cases. I just gave up and left it in there. Looks like now I have to do the damage and get it out. If I get off early enough today I may try to dive into in the parking lot of the hotel. I just hate wrenching out there. I get some strange looks from all those snooty bastards in Westlake at the Holiday Inn. My beater truck/ski doesn't belong next to there Beamers and Audi's apparently!!
What time are you guys riding tomorrow? If I can possibly get it apart tonight and get it spinning again I would love to ride. I just highly doubt it will happen for me. Even if I get it off, just going by memory, I think the starter looked R O U G H when I put it in. I should have bought a new one at the start of the build, I was just on a tight budget and that one seemed to work. Always something..

Your gonna have to beat it out of the cases with a hammer and a piece of wood.
Then just take it apart, clean it and reassemble. It shouldn't be too bad of a job. If you want to come out to my house in Strongsville and wrench on it, that would be cool.

EDIT: I'll give ya a guy to call that has rebuilt starters cheap. Just take a battery with you to make sure it works. I have bought 5 from him. one didn't work. (I am sure he'll take it back, just never called him.)

my marshmallow starter has a year + on it and no probs yet
i thought it was going bad but i think it was just my battery draining, after a quick top off, no mopre probs

and for 75 bux?
im sure he would even swap it out for ya korn

You guys kick A$$! I'll give Rick a call in a little bit and work it out. I may hit you up on the offer to wrench at your house DJ. I've got a ton of tools I keep in the truck at all times, I just hate wrenching in a hotel parking lot. I may try and meet up with Rick when I get off, or he gets off one and head maybe head your way if it's cool. I'll give you a call when I get it figured out! Thanks again!!
