compression and exaust temp sensor sxr

ok i just put on a wet pipe and a ada girlded head with 32 cc domes on it and my compression is only 150!!! I thought it should be around 180. I dont get why they recommend 32 cc domes just for the ada head? The r@d, jsu, speedwerx head they all recommend running 28cc domes for pump gas! And when i put the wet pipe on there is a sensor that went into the exaust what or where does that go it says nothing about it thanks

yeah it was like 165psi. Then i just went by what ada recommends for pump gas and it is way of it should be 180. Everything is good all gaskets and rings are perfect. You think if i put 28cc in it would bump it up

Stock CC's on my 05 were 32.5 and about 155psi. I went to 28 and have approx 185 now.
Just zip tie up the heat sensor to the wiring harness running right along the side of the hull. I called FP about leaving that info out and they said yeah, they know.

125???

Problem time.

Thats what I thought...the motor ran great last season, didn't check the comp. before tear down but crosshatch was still there and all looked good. I wasn't around for re-assembly but they are 100% sure everything went together correctly. New base gasket, all new Orings, brand new head. We put a little bit of oil in the cylinders to make sure it wasnt bone dry when cranking.

You are checking the compression at WOT

What does WOT do to the compression #s?
Unsure of the guage, probably a cheap one but it has tested multiple other skis before and been within spec...we tried another guage just in case and got the same #s.

You're the second person to mention that.

What's up with WOT when testing compression??

I've always been told to hold the throttle open when checking mine? I would assume its so you get the maximum amount of air as possible?

I thought he was running 150psi Jason? I could see him making up the psi by going to 28's like almost every other head manufactor says..

not sure the best way to describe it but you get full air flow into the cylinders...... try it with the butterflys closed and then open them up, you will see an increase in cranking compression.

150 psi if he cranked it over a dozen times...I have always heard that 3 revs is where you want to stop to get an accurate reading (not sure if this is true). I could see him making up the compression by droping down the dome size too but ADA says 180psi with 32cc domes and he is way off. ADA website says 200psi with 28cc domes.

We tried it at WOT on one cylinder but only saw maybe a 5psi difference if that so we didnt try it on the other. We checked it multiple times.

We need to get a good/expensive compression guage on it just to be 100% sure that is the problem but I am guessing because it said 125-130 on 2 different less expensive guages that it is probably close to that. Im not sure if the new base gasket is thicker....I believe it was out of a 750 gasket kit.

Side note...when looking at ADA's site for the girdled head it says 32cc domes = 180psi, when I look at their non-girdled head 30cc domes (the biggest they have for that head) it says 150psi. The kawasaki 750 girdled head also says 30cc domes = 150psi. Is it possible that the non gird. domes fit the gird. head and somebody made a mistake or their website has the wrong info?

I dunno if thats right, its not like your ski only runs for three revolutions? Hell it takes about that to get it started.... so I dunno about that...your ski constatly turns over so wouldn't more revolutions on a compression test be more accurate to true compression?

I think the 750 ones are thinner. You got it from DK right?

I have heard that from more than one source...dunno.
Yes the kit was from DK.

Check your squish, I had the same thing on a 701 and had to deck the cylinder.
