How to tell if a set of carbs is "Matched"

Exactly what the title says. I have a set of 44mm mikuni carbs and I'm wondering if they are a matched set or just something that was pieced together. The throttle shafts are cut and ground, and on the one carb, the throttle stop is cut as well. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Thanks.

well i'm going to post some pics of them tomorrow. I looked at them a little closer and I believe they are a matched set. There are some numbers ingraved on them at the bottom of the carb. The black carbs, are stock carbs off or something correct? So if they are black they are probably not sbn's.

all carbs when set up for duals are the same, they start out as singles, they do cut off part of the throttle stop. Are the fuel fittings straight or are they curved???

I'd be more concerned about them being synch'd

I would be much more concerned about them being matched.
Synching is something that's easily fixed (less than five minutes).
You won't fix mis-matched carbs short of buying a new one.
