So why don't many people post about Wetjet bullitt couplers?

I just got a set and they are beefy as hell. Any downside? They do seem a bit heavy. And the have a urethane dampener! forget about that thing ever wearing out...

No idea Ox, I am planning on pull my old couplers tonight to check it out. I will post back with results.

EDIT: USPS label reads 2lb even on these couplers with the dampener. I will check on stock here in a bit...

I honestly don't see how one could break it. Seems like alot of other things would go first....

Scary thought, isn't it.

I like the stock 3 finger coupler as it is the weakest link in the drive line. Rather have that snap (always carry a spare) than something more expensive or harder to replace.

The hollow midshaft will snap just behind the coupler at the threads.

I have a set of the couplers also and think they really look good. I like them more than my billet set that someone smashed in a vise to remove the crank. Then I think they smashed the other side in the vise to make it look like the engine side. Some people are completely stupid.

I saw many of them that were worn out and even some that broke into pieces in the highpoint of my career as a WetJet mechanic. Mostly from severe misalignment. Cant say they would do the same in a SJ though. It isnt even possible to minalign a SJ as bad as you could a WetJet.

Happen to know if the midshaft, the actual shaft part is the same as a SJ, looked to me like it measures the same just in a different housing. I would also love to get my hands on the tailcone that points foreward on that stock pipe Westcoast made.

The couplers are great, use only a rubber cushion to eliminate metal wear and improve vibration dampening. The urethane cushion is much too hard. They were cheap and plentiful for a while. Why don't people talk their couplers? First they are too busy bragging about how big their carbs are and then spend the rest of their time trying to make them work.

Not sure. I hope not. I threw three of them away after I compared the two parts and they looked different. That would just add the pain of me throwing away to Kraze exhausts because I thought they were worthless and then some guy on here or Today sells some for like 250 or something.

I dont really under stand what you talking about with the tailcone part. Let me know. I still have a lot of WetJet crap laying around and Im about to gut my old ski that was just given back to me. Maybe I could throw that part your way.

I always thought the whole point of the billet couplers was to reduce rotational weight. Same with the lightweight driveshafts...

Bare with me as I don't know all the details with SJ's but what's the point then? Looks? Is the stock coupler super weak?
It just seems if you had the choice between two flywheels that cost the same, had, similar durability, but one had an extra half pound around the center, you'd pick the lighter one.
