Isn't post 17 a list of recommendations?

yes. i didnt ask why nobody was giving recommendations though... in fact, my question wasnt directed to you.

i was referring to vumads point on what people recommend for mods. hes right.... nobody *NEEDS* mods..... or jet skis, for that matter.

there are things that can be done that universally (or just in individuals' opinions) make skis more fun. stock sucks, and im pretty sure that 99.9% of us would agree with that.

with that said, heres what i have done to our x2..... keep in mind that you wont *NEED* to do any of it.....

astrics can be fun.....

:haha:

small pin 750
wcf modified single mikuni SBN 48mm carb
oem SJ flame arrester
TDR reeds
SJ b pipe (mod)
westcoast 650 exhaust manifold
mariner waterbox (gonna put a stocker in its palce)
jetworks flow control valve
bulletproof steering system
top loader grate
dual 500 gph bilge pumps
skat 16 impeller
SJ tank
relocated battery to under the seat

Ok, so here is the deal.
i ride surf with the wavejunkies in Va beach, and ive been waiting to find a deal on a x2 so i can build one up.
I rode Petes x2 at Wavedaze last year and it was a blast.
I finally found one, its an 87 model with a 650 in it, but the electrics are burnt up. i got a few extra west coast parts, and i also found another 94 model for a buddy.
you guys seem like you kow your skis pretty well.
what i would like is an idea of what mods are most recommended, i know the 750 upgrade is done but what other engines can fit (800cc) and what 750 model engine is best suited.
im going to rig up a trim system and also install footstraps.
what do you guys think are some good things to change on my ski to start out with?
thanks
Zimmy
congratulations on x2 i am going to wavedaze we had so much fun at daytona, i am going to try to go to a lot of them, check out the x2 mods sticky on top page lots of good stuff their enjoy

Eat, Drink, Breath x2's
Stock X-2

I rode stock x-2's for years..... and I love em.

My x-2's are far from stock now, but the addition of a few bolt-ons can make a 650 x-2 fun.

It's pretty fun to add mods as you go instead of doing it all at once..... then you learn what each mod does for you.

I've had years of fun on a 650 platform with heads/intakes/carbs/ex combos.

With all the hype about 750 x-2's..... 650 kawi parts are cheap cheap.

Take that baby into the surf where it belongs ):) Ride on.:wall:

I'm glad to hear that. Fun is all a matter of opinion. 750 guys are spoiled.
