prop suggestions and my mods

i have a 750 x2, twin carbs, wc pipe/mani, jeti flywheel, higher compression head, some porting, run pump gas though. i bought the boat like this, so i dont know much on what pitch it has now. but there a some major cavitation issues on the low end, it burns out of the hole, i am wondering if maybe the porting on the engine is set for top end....i dont know the guy i bought it from said the engine was a spare engine his buddy had on a race boat, still playing with this thing and trying to figure things out, tunning, etc. also have 2 tailcones for the pipe a short and a really long one. the short one is on there now and from what i understand the short is for top end power.
hull is stock, no mods other than PJS grate and OP plate and nozzle.

Dave @ impros is telling me to run a Skat-Trak 8/16 C-75 Swirl impeller, which obviously will be machined to fit my pump. by the way its a 650 pump duh me for not mentioning it. any suggestions would help. i hear some x2 guys running the 800 prop. thx.

make sure the pump is 100% sealed in the pump cavity with silicone. the slightest breach in the seal will result in major cavitation out of the hole.

First off, you need to makes sure the pump is sealed up good with silicone or it will cavitate. Second, what bore is the exit nozzle. I would find a stock SXR nozzle and have Improse mod it, I run almost your exact setup and found the stock x2 nozzle and cone worked perfect with my power. The short tailcone is for low end punch. If your exit nozzle is too big, it will induce cavitation.

a little off the subject here..... crab, do you know if a jetmate nozzle is compatible with, say, a 750 or x2 nozzle? or is the steering pivot more fwd or bckwrd?

*edited to make sense*

Pump is the same, the Jetmate nozzle and turn nozzle are designed to give you a power steering feel at the stick. If you put a standup nozzle on there, you probably couldn't turn it well, and you would loose reverse and neutral.

crab, what prop r u running ?

i am going to check the seal in the next few days, i havent even really gotten to the pump work yet, i'll keep you posted.
