Well, I managed to piss off the wifey. The blanket I used on my shop stand turned out to be a quilt her 78 year old grandmother made for her. :bad3: It is the only quilt she ever made and was made out of clothing from all her children, grand children and great grandchildren. I thought it was a different one I used a couple years ago but thats what I get for not asking. Luckily no damage or grease stains.
Anyway, it will take a while to recover from this one. :sad6:

I thought my wife was pissed when I used her good kitchen scissors to cut all my fiberglass and carbon fiber... if I used a quilt made by her grandma for my project... I prob. would no longer be classified as a man after she found out...

You talking about the first pic of the ski hanging upside down? All the other pics are of the nose area. Honestly, I'm just glad to get the reiforcement over with. Now i get to look forward to footholds and turf. I might take a break for a while after I get the motor back in.
Oh, and i used her good cooking scissors too.:spankme: I just have to buy her a new pair.:cool2: As far as the quilt goes, she got over it. She knew I didn't mean any harm plus there was no damage to it.

Looks good. FYI, try to make it as level as possible. Trying to get the glass to lay down is tough in that area.

I'm guessing you used the 1708 biax, I have used that on my X2 last winter. This time I'm going with 1208 so it will conture better, and topping it with the 8.5oz twill glass with black resin. (poor mans carbon). Probably lay a piece in the nose just for added strength if I ever hit bottom, under the lip, and under the bracket for certain. I was leaking water at the bond line in the rear, so a strip back there as well. Staying with 4lb foam in the back when it goes together, just like the strength it has, and a -2 cut on the pole with my hood kit. My firewall isn't sealed up very well, so probably 1 layer twill on it as well, and the bottom may get 1 also.

I can't remember what cloth I bought. I got it a couple of years ago but it is kind of thick. My firewall doesnt look like its sealed all that well either. I will probably just seal it up with some 5200.

Yes, my drypipe had rubbed through before I got the boat. The R&D sponsons on the outside kept any water out.

Get the 2 part, the 4 pound is a little heavier but is so solid and strong its good for structural support.
