Rev foothold install

Wow, I just got some REV footholds. I like the feel of them, but install looks like it will be a PITA!
I have installed Rickters before and they are pretty simple. My current footholds I made years ago myself just by shaping and wet laying the glass. These seem like they will be a pain to install.

I also wanted to mount them a little farther forward. Looks like I will have to cut the toe section and re-glass it to clear the pipe.

dont you have to defoam to do this though? The REV hold instal is a little more time consuming but not too bad, just a little more time cutting out and fitting on the 1st side. Mine are not as far back as he recomends but mine has custom side exhaust, another set I have see installed further forward they did lower the exhaust tube on. My foot never goes that far forward in the hold so I recomend just cutting the section that hits out and reglassing arround the exhaust tube.

I am already defoamed so that won't be a problem. Sounds to me like moving the exh. tube vs. cutting the corner of the foot hold would be about a wash in regard to labor and end result.
I definitely want them as far forward as possible.

Note that you will have issues with your battery/ exhaust tube as well if you lower the exhaust tube. You will need to run a smaller battery then the yuroso or what ever the OEM POS is.

I was thinking about running a smaller battery but I don't want to be "stuck" with that. I will put the batt. and exhaust in this weekend and see how things will line up.
I guess the other choice is to just have someone with a pipe bender give me just a little curve to the pipe(assuming I can get the flange at the right angle.)

ya, just bend the tube on the inside some how rather than re locating it where it enters the gunwhale area of the ski.

sjetrider, How far back does Jeff suggest they be mounted? I think I want mine as far forward as possible.
Over the weekend I trimmed and glassed the toe area. I also lowered the exh. tube about 1/2". I still need just a tick more room. A very slight bend in the tube might still be in order.
