I need your video! I am looking for video to add to
"JetTards IV: EastsideFreeride". If you have a couple unique shots, put them on DVD (the higher quality the better) and send them to me at:

I don't want a ton of footage, just about 30 seconds of your absolute most insane stuff (It can be lifestyle shots too!). Close ups are better than faraway shots. I have a really cool idea for the end of the film...make sure to include the rider's name, filmer's name and location.
Deadline is Christmas. If you send me something decent, (even subs are cool) I'll get ya in the video somewhere!

Thanks in advance! :sgrin:

I just watched a few of your videos. You all are some friggen polar bears.
What is hard to see is how big and nasty the surf is on some of the videos. Zooming in with the camcorder compresses the distance and scope. Much more impressive in person.

By Florida standards (your location) it would seem rather cold. The Pacific ocean doesn't get below around 45 degrees no matter what time of year. The ocean also keeps the weather at the beach moderated so the air doesn't get much below 40 during the winter.

When we went out Oct. 27th the water was 55 degrees and the air was 67. It has been rather nippy a few times but the physical activity in the big surf creates a bit of body heat. Some people wear two wetsuits instead of a dry suit. Box trailers with big heaters help too. Not like we stay out all day. High winds can add to the effect too.

Some good things this far north are we don't have very many shark attacks or any nasty jellyfish, etc. We have to wait for the surf to be reasonably small during the winter. Monday's forecast has a peak of 34 foot swells at 6AM and a minimum of 26 feet for the day.

Our group is leaning towards skipping a couple months right now for a change this year. The cold is a factor but mainly because the surf is just too big and dangerous.

As you can see from the graphs on the web page below it got pretty big and nasty after the first week of December last year:
