If you install a reed spacer you will only have to do some minor modification to the flame arrestor. Just use a Dremmel and trim the area that will interfere with the center bolt.

So is this mod that you guys do or do you buy aftermarket F/As?
I understand that the OEM F/A is THE F/A to have once you start getting water in the bilge more frequently?

Alot of people use aftermarket F/a's because they are running aftermarket carbs. Aftermarket carbs like Buckshots have the top of the carb cut off and a carb adapter installed. Then you have to run a a/m f/a.
Personally I like stock F'A's. They keep water injestion down to a minimum.

No mods over here with ADA and stock F/A's.
I only use the spacer plate.
