Got a wild hair and got up a 5am sunday and hit Matanzas w/ my bud Ted.. I just want to say that yesterday was awesome... head high w/ light offshores all day... I rode till I almost fell over... The waves were perfect at 6:30am... Ted and I were already done riding by the time anyone else showed up

I need to get up early more often...

weather was perfect... like 60F in the morn. and warmed up to 78F during mid day... not even a cloud in the sky...

This is why I live in Florida....

that's so awesome though. some of the best rides are nice and early.

our Action Sports Division is located in Irvine, CA - all the guys in that office surf every morning before work.

I would love to be able to ski every morning...

sorry, but I coplained when it was ********ty, so I figured I would have to talk it up when it's good...


btw - I commited to doing surf rolls all day yesterday... I didn't do one BR in the footholds all day... I have those ********ers dialed in pretty good now...

Yea Sun was amazing here all day also,clean and head high one of our best days of the yr also,wish we would have had the toon out and stayed all day.

Nick,how does the HR FFH you use work for you on Surf stance rolls, I use the same FFH Ive been working on trying those and i just cant seem to get it,I keep coming out 1/3 to 1/2 the way through. I always have wanted to ride surf stance 100% of the time. but making rolls like this feels way out of sync,im doing something wrong just dont know what?

I am doing them w/ one foot in the front hold and back foot floating... you can do them several different ways in surf stance... there is the way where you waist is not totally sideways but the foot is still up front, then you have the JK way where his ass is hanging off the side... (I prefer them like JK did em). approach the wave and get totally sideways in the tray launch and let the ski travel up and sit down a little when you start to get inverted. Just turn the bars like you normally would... keeping your weight forward and keeping the nose down is much easier w/ the foot forward IMO... look over right shoulder for landing...

I always forget to spot my landing right now... :headache:
I'm landing 80% plate to plate, the rest a little sloppy, but completed


one thing... see avatar: see how my front leg is bent more... that helps

right foot forward going left... it's the same a Joe Kenney

feels like a front flip in a way

it's definately not the same feel... foothold rolls are easier, I think...

hmm,im right foot forward and trying them the same way,what seems to get me is my rear foot comes out of the hold first cause I dont have the leverage of the right foot on the other side to keep it pushed in,I have no clue how you do it rear foot floating,I just really dont want to put in a rear strap ,but may have to.

Are you throwing your head down like JK does.he almost seemed to kinda have a 2 part like method,hard throw down and then a weird snap coming the last 50% around.sort of giro like. how bout some hel cam of this anyone down there shoot for you?

we hardly ever get vid... pics once in a while... the ones from last weekend show how I'm doing them... I am no expert, but I'm getting pretty consistant now... JK had a style of his own... I would never say I can do anything like him... One in a million, there.. Anyway, keep trying and i'll try to get video this weekend... I'll have the wife record from the beach or something...

That does it, I'm moving:Banane36:......any construction/remodeling going on out there? The wife can transfer to jobs at the Kennedy Space Center, since she works for Boeing.
